I mainly got this because when it comes to cooking my stuff can be a
little iffy. I'm great at baking but cooking? Ehhh. I'm always worried
and paranoid when I cook meat and so aren't the people I'd be serving. I
was gonna be hosting Thanksgiving last year and was in charge of the
turkey, so this was going to be coming in handy to make sure I didn't
poison anyone.
As soon as I got this and turned it on, it started to take MY temperature.. Lol. I was holding the metal tip of it & it started to try to take my temp and then I decided to hold the tip near the heater and it took the temp of that so I at least knew it worked. Then Thanksgiving came. I'm ashamed to admit how many times I stabbed my poor turkey with this thing.. But if it wasn't already dead, it definitely would have been after how many times I stabbed it with the thermometer. I didn't want it to be undercooked but definitely didn't want to overcook it because I know that's just blasphemy at Thanksgiving (especially with my family). When the thermometer showed the temp my turkey was supposed to be, I pulled it out & hoped no one got food poisoning..
..Thankfully & surprisingly, my turkey was cooked perfectly & was actually super juicy and everyone loved it. So this thermometer is definitely going to be something I'll be using in my kitchen every time I cook.
