Being part Italian, I use fresh garlic quite often & I absolutely HATE trying to cut garlic myself, especially since I'm extremely accident prone when it comes to super sharp objects & buying pre-minced garlic just isn't the same. I've got a garlic press that has plastic handles but it just doesn't work right because you cant really get a good grip on it & I'm always afraid I'm just going to squeeze too hard & snap it in half so my garlic is never minced properly.
With this stainless steel garlic press it has the perfect weight so you can get a good grip on it & you don't have to worry about it snapping in half & that weight helps with pressing down. ALSO the super amazing thing with this garlic press is... YOU DON'T NEED TO PEEL THE GARLIC!!! You can put the garlic in the basket (it can even hold TWO cloves at once!), press the lever down & voila! Your freshly minced garlic comes out while the skin stays inside the basket where you can easily remove it! No fuss, no muss. No spending 5-10 minutes just to peel one clove of garlic and then another 5-10 minutes to chop that clove that of garlic. In about a minute you can have 2 cloves of garlic minced AND peeled!
