I really liked this even tho it was kind of smaller than I had expected.. But it reminded me of a donut. LOL. It looks really elegant & even has a safety feature where it turns itself off when it's not level which I think is awesome (except when I was recording my video review as you can tell if you watch). To get it open you twist the top counter clockwise & on the inside is a plastic "lid" that you lift up. You don't fill it above the square thing inside the basin & make sure no water gets inside where the air "hole" is.. So if you need to dump the water out of the basin, place your finger over the hole (it also has these instructions on the plastic lid). You can set this to be on for 3mins & off for 1min to conserve water, or have it on continuously until it runs out of water. You can also set the lights for it to cycle through all the colors ( red, green, blue, yellow, purple), select one specific color or have no color at all. It's got 2 lights on the front of the diffuser.. The red light will flash when the water is getting low & the blue light will flash if it's on the timer mode. I think it lasts for a little over 3hrs on continuous & it DOES leave a decent amount of water in the basin when it shuts off. Per the instructions it does this so that it doesn't accidentally overheat.
